LifeWay Research has offered us the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive church survery to help us better understand the values, foundational activities, and mindset of our congregation.  In order for the survery to be most helpful to us, we would like it to be completed by every active adult member of our church.  The best way is to go online to the link above.  You will need to enter our church ID: 8210.

Parables of the Kingdom

The gospel writers record over fifty stories told by Jesus that we commonly refer to as parables.  Many of us first heard or read the parables of Jesus when we were children.  Chances are, our Sunday School teachers taught us that a parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning or something to that effect.  The truth is that Jesus' parables do have a heavenly meaning, but they also speak to us in the here and now.

Jesus loved to teach by means of metaphor and analogy, drawing a comparison between the familiar and the spiritual.  The most prevalent focus of His parables is the Kingdom of God which He sometimes refers to as the Kingdom of Heaven.  As we gather for worship each Sunday during these early weeks of 2010, we are going to be considering several Parables of the Kingdom, as recorded by Mathew.  I hope you will join us.

Sincerely Yours In Christ
Dan
